Rushmoor Lib Dems also join Green Tax Switch Action Week

Rushmoor Liberal Democrats will be out on the streets on Saturday 21st October 2006 to promote the Green Tax Switch Action Week.

Their street stall will be located between Princes Mead and Queensmead in Farnborough from 10am until 2pm.

Liberal Democrats in Blackwater are also running a street stall the same morning.

Both groups will feature ambitious Lib Dems plans to cut income tax and switch Britain to fairer, greener taxes to reduce the impact of climate change.

"By giving everyone a tax cut people can choose how much they keep by helping the environment" says Cllr Sue Gadsby

Cllr Sue Gadsby (pictured) commented: "Governments currently tax good things, like work. We need to switch to taxing bad things instead, like pollution and carbon emissions.

"By giving every income tax payer a tax cut, people will then be able to choose how much of their tax cut they keep by how much they change their behaviour to benefit our planet and our environment."

The Liberal Democrat Green Tax Switch Campaign was launched at the Party Conference in Brighton in September by Party Leader Menzies Campbell MP and by Environment Spokesperson Chris Huhne, MP for Eastleigh here in Hampshire.
