Michelle (known as Mitch) Manning is the Liberal Democrat campaigner for Aldershot's Wellington ward.
Mitch is 33 and has lived at Wingate Court in Wellington ward for the past 8 years. Living in the ward means she understands what it is like living close to Aldershot town centre and will be able to pick up on local problems quickly.
She is an Ofsted registered nanny by profession having obtained a GNVQ at Farnborough 6th Form College and an NNEB in Nursery Nursing at Farnborough College of Technology. She has just completed a 3 year contract with one family and has now started with a new family with two boys. Working with parents and children means she understands the pressures of everyday family life.
Mitch feels an affinity with Aldershot's military families as her dad served with "The Buffs" and then the "Queen's" Regiment. She is also a strong supporter of Aldershot Town FC having played for the Ladies' reserve team.
Mitch believes Aldershot needs a fresh start and is keen to make our town centre a safer and more pleasant place to live.
In May 2010 Mitch received a massive 24% increase in the Lib Dem vote and pushed Labour into 3rd place. In the Wellington ward by-election in September 2010 Mitch was just 32 votes away from taking the seat from the Tories. Labour came a poor third once again and can't win here.
