A stunning General Election result!

While you wouldn't know it from the News & Mail report, our results here in Aldershot constituency were stunning!
On a day when the Conservatives gained 100 seats, we CUT their majority here across Aldershot, Blackwater and Farnborough.
At the last election the constituency included the Lib Dem stronghold of Yateley. This time, a boundary change moved Yateley into another constituency, thereby removing thousands of keen Lib Dem supporters. This change means that comparisons with last time have to be based on calculations of what the result then would have been if that election had been held on the new boundary.
The loss of so many keen Yateley supporters makes our result all the more remarkable.
Adrian's Lib Dem vote increased from 11,816 to 15,617 - a massive 32% increase and the Tory majority was also cut from 6,293 to 5,586.
So while all around us Tories were massively increasing their majorities, the opposite happened here. Well done to everyone who helped make this happen.
This was our best result ever and makes Aldershot an excellent prospect to win next time!
