Speed limits have been cut on the Reading Road thanks to local Lib Dems led by Adrian Collett
The speed limit on the Reading Road through Frogmore, Darby Green and Yateley has finally been cut thanks to pressure from local Lib Dems led by Cllr Adrian Collett.
Councillor Collett has supported residents calls for the limit to be cut to make it safer around Frogmore College and Potley Hill Primary School.
It was not until the Government recently changed the rules on speed limits that Yateley Town Council was able to act. They wrote to the County Council asking that all the speed limits on the Reading Road be reviewed.
Independent consultants looked at the whole of Reading Road from the A30 through to Eversley and agreed with us that the speed limits were wrong and should be changed.
The new limits are in place but Adrian is pressing for more signs to make it clearer to motorists. Please take care to observe the new limits.
Cllr Collett said, "I hope the new limits will make the road safer for our children and motorists alike."
New Reading Road limits are as follows:
A30 London Road to Green Lane - cut from 40 to 30 mph
Green Lane to Cricket Hill - cut from 60 to 40 mph
Cricket Hill to Green Lane - still 30 mph
Hall Lane to edge of Yateley - cut from 40 to 30 mph
