Liberal Democrats won 4 of the 7 seats on Blackwater & Hawley Town Council in hotly contested elections on May 3rd. All three other candidates missed out narrowly.
In Blackwater ward Lib Dem candidate Brian Blewett topped the poll and was elected along with Celia Hennell. Fellow Liberal Democrat Abu Bakar missed out on winning the third seat to an Independent by just 9 votes!
In Hawley & Minley ward local County Councillor Adrian Collett topped the poll and was elected along with Jeff Smith. Fellow Liberal Democrat Abul Koher Chowdhury missed out by just 21 votes!
In Ancells Farm ward Rick Robinson lost his seat by just 16 votes!
Blackwater & Hawley Town Council has been Lib Dem run for 24 years, ever since Liberals won the Council from the Conservatives in 1983.
