"It's clear that the views of local residents have just been ignored", says Adrian Collett
LABOUR and Conservative Governments have shut thousands of Post Offices across the country in recent years. Now further closures are set to hit Hampshire.
Four Post Offices are due to close in our area in November - two in Farnborough, one in Yateley and one in Blackwater. Two in Aldershot closed last year.
Liberal Democrat campaigners have fought the closures along with local residents.
The 'consultation' has been condemned as a sham by Liberal Democrat councillor, Adrian Collett.
'Last year it took place over Christmas, this year over the school summer holidays. This year the consultation closed on 22nd September and they announced their decision on 7th October - just eleven working days later,' says Cllr Collett.
'I have copies of dozens of the letters sent in by local residents and they raise many serious points.
